I love being a mom to my kids. I'd pick them over anything, in a heartbeat. But I admit, I do get tired sometimes. I get exhausted. And while I love having conversations with them, I miss talking to other people as well.

Here's something I wrote on my journal a few months back, while I was torn between staying home and going out. I felt a bit guilty but also so excited to go out and see my friends at the same time.

Remind yourself that a few hours of alone time doesn't mean turning your back from your responsibilities. Instead, treat it as a refresher. A time out to get your shit together and to remind yourself of who you are... because despite being a wonderful mother, you are still you. And that's perfectly fine. Don't ever feel bad about having a little fun without your kids because you need time for yourself. Don't feel bad if other people raise their eyebrows on the idea because they know nothing about how you feel.
We all know motherhood doesn't only come with celebrations, birthdays and milestones. You work behind the scenes and know all the mess that comes with it. So heal. Take your time. This doesn't mean you want to get rid of your kids. It just means you're making time for yourself to be better for them.

This helped me relax and think about the importance of thinking about myself, too. You can't pour from an empty cup, they say.

So if you're feeling exhausted, go ahead and take that time out. Relax and give yourself the love and the time your hardworking self so deserves.

Happy Valentine's Day! 💖

Do you ever find yourself looking for a way to stop and do a reset in the middle of your busy life? I do. I feel like I couldn't function properly without having a bit of time for myself. I get cranky and moody when I don't get to do what I want. This made me realize that I also need to give myself some love. I also need to give myself a bit of time to slow down.

This year, I promised to give myself the love I deserve. Not that I don't get it from my family. I do! I know my family loves me no matter how cranky I can be. But I feel like I get cranky because I lack love from the one I need the most love from... myself. So here are a few things I plan to do to show me some more love this year:
  1. Have a bit of me time. When everything seems like a chaos, a 10-minute break, all to yourself can make a huge difference.
  2. Take more naps. Don't push it if you can't do it.
  3. Hydrate. Drink up. Your body needs it.
  4. Draw some more. I don't know about you but having some sort of outlet relaxes me. When I get so stressed out with work, I take a few minutes to sketch something up on my notebook and I feel like I'm ready to take on more work right after.
  5. Work out. I started taking boxing lessons back in December but I had to stop because I went to the US for two weeks and now that I'm back and I feel like I've recovered from the jetlag and the fatigue, I think I'm ready to go back to the gym and work out again. The goal is to be more kind to my body... not weight loss.
  6. Unplug from social media. I plan to lessen my time spent on the internet and instead, spend more time on other things that are more important that Instagram and Facebook.
  7. Learn new healthy dishes. Nothing feels better than acing a new recipe and having people like it.
  8. Read books. I feel like I need to catch up on reading this year because I haven't been reading quite a lot in the past years. I'm looking for feel-good, motivational and inspirational books so if you know anything, please let me know in the comments!
  9. Manage my time and stick to my Bullet Journal. I feel like working at home actually took some of my time away from my kids because I wasn't giving time management much attention but when I tried to set goals and schedules for different days, it felt like I am with my kids more when they need me.
  10. Get up earlier and make the bed rightaway. It gives me an earlier headstart and it makes me more productive.
So there you go. This worked for me for the past few months so I'm planning to continue them this year. What do you do to give yourself a bit more love? 💛

Hola! I'm Christine. Welcome to this little space on the internet where I'll be writing about everything my crazy little brain wants to say.

I've been meaning to write an intro post just to give you a sneak peak about who I am before I actually post about anything but I couldn't find the right words to say. Somehow, nothing felt right... or maybe it's just the perfectionist in me who wants everything neat and perfect or just me... doubting myself, as always -- but let's save that for another story, shall we?

So today, I'm sharing 15 Random Facts about myself for you to get to know me a little and here they are:
  1. I'm a 27-year old mom of two little boys and happily married with my best frienemy, James.
  2. I am a Type 1 Diabetic and I inject insulin thrice a day.
  3. I have a resting bitch face. I am not angry all the time. I'm actually a fun-loving person. It's just my face. So if you see me anywhere, please, say hi! I don't bite.
  4. I've been blogging since I was 11. I'm not quite sure if I remember correctly but does anyone still remember to look for hosts? Or has anyone else used Greymatter to blog? Wow, I feel old.
  5. I used to blog at Big Bangs Theory with my sister, Camille.
  6. I love denim jackets. I have couple of my own but my favorite is my husband's, which is what I am wearing in the photos above.
  7. I like drinking coffee but the only one I know how to make is instant coffee.
  8. I'm a self-love advocate. I've just discovered very recently that I can be happy about myself even if I didn't look anything like the women portrayed on media.
  9. I like to draw women of different shapes, colors and sizes.
  10. I love milk tea!!!
  11. I have a huge smile. I can't control it and I used to be so conscious about it but now, I'm asking myself why I get so conscious about happiness.
  12. Of all the places I've been to, Tokyo and San Francisco top my list of favorites. I love how pretty everything is... I wouldn't mind walking the whole day.
  13. Just very recently, I started collecting vinyl toys. Let's see how far I'll go.
  14. I love Emojis when I text or chat and I get scared when replies don't have Emojis... it feels like the other person's already plotting my death or something.
  15. I love cacti!!! Other plants too, yeah, but I don't have a green thumb and they basically just wanna die on me when I touch them. So I stick to cacti.
So that's just a few things about me... you'll get to know more about me in the future so I do hope you stick around. 💖
