Every Pride-themed illustration in Canva's library — free or pro — looked like stock. Flat, generic, and visually interchangeable with everything else on the internet.

I identified the gap and initiated Canva's first dedicated Pride illustration collections, leading the research and development of styles with two non-negotiables: quality that would outlast a single campaign season, and representation that felt genuinely celebratory rather than tokenistic.

The collections punched above their brief. They sparked Pride and Mardi Gras template campaigns across other teams, became a foundation for inclusive design at Canva, and are still being used and adapted into new templates years after production — a rare mark of work that was built to last.
